On behalf of the “Speak Up & Vote” committee, we would like to thank you for participating in our “John Lewis Day of Action Votercade Day”!!Â
May 8th was the national John Lewis Day of Action when Americans all over the country came together to demand the passage of the For the People Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, DC Statehood as well as to address one of the greatest obstacles to the passage of civil and voting rights – the filibuster!Â
Special thanks to Pastor Dwayne Barefield of “All Nations” church for allowing us the use of the church’s parking lot and participating in the parade.Â
State Senator John Connor, thank you for advancing the common good in our community. Together, United, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow.Â
Erica Holmes and Tycee Bell for the positive exposure you gave our initiative, which provided the community with an introduction to our goals and objectives.Â
Lastly, thank the community leaders and residents for being part of this special community initiative.Â
We were truly energized by your enthusiastic response to getting into “Good Trouble”! John Lewis is smiling down from heaven knowing that “His truth is marching on.”Â
Thank you again for your participation!!Â
